Dreams have been proven to be crucial for our health – mental, physical, emotional, and psychological. During this time of COVID-19 pandemic, we have all been faced with challenges we never thought possible. Even more now than ever, we need to have dreams for the future.
Dreams motivate us to accomplish things in our lives. Without dreams, we would be aimlessly going through our days with no direction. It is in determining the steps to accomplish our dreams that we have purpose and meaning to our days.

Dreams should involve your future career plans and goals for your personal growth. They will give your life purpose, bearing, and significance. Your dreams should shape the decisions you make so you work toward a future you desire. Having dreams and working toward accomplishing them will give you hope and help you to realize that you are in control of your own life.
Most of us are afraid to dream because we are afraid to fail. Possibly we have had some disappointments when we were children. Maybe we had hopes and dreams but were discouraged by others from even attempting to accomplish them. I see this happening all the time. In my opinion, any dream that you desire can be accomplished with your total commitment. Don’t let any other person decide what your dreams will include.
Accomplishing your dreams is how you can show your full potential in life. This is your chance to prove your abilities and begin building your future. It doesn’t matter how old you are, you should still have dreams for your life.
If not now, when?
It is important to remember that you are only proving your abilities to yourself, you are the only person who matters. If you are lucky enough to have a supportive person who will encourage you, then you are fortunate.
Sometimes our loved ones are afraid for us and do not want us to face failure. This is why they may be naysayers to our dreams. If you know that vocalizing your dreams will lead to criticism, ridicule, or self-doubt, then there is no need to let anyone know what you are working toward. It can be very difficult to turn off the negative thoughts inside your head if there is another person giving voice to those same thoughts. Kindly acknowledge their concern for your well-being and ask them to support you by only encouraging your efforts.
