Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

The saying, “Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder” means that beauty is subjective.  In other words, what one person thinks is beautiful may not be agreed upon by another.  We all have differing opinions of what we think of as physical beauty.  These opinions are influenced by many things including social media and marketing.

“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.”

Our self-image is so affected by these things and many times we aren’t even aware of it.  From the wrinkles on our faces, to the extra pounds on our hips, we are being bombarded by messages that these things are not beautiful, and therefore, we believe that we are not beautiful.

True beauty comes from within.  A person who is sure of him/herself and has self-confidence in presenting that perfect self to the world, is the essence of true beauty.  This type of person radiates to the world a natural beauty that gets our attention.

“True beauty in an individual is reflected in their soul.”

Audrey Hepburn

Our wrinkles should be a badge of honor.  They signify the experiences we have endured throughout our lives.  These experiences have given us the confidence and knowledge to endure even the toughest of situations.  They are the marks of a wise individual.  They are our “perfect imperfections.”

Beauty is no longer defined by hairstyles, body shape, age, or skin color. Beauty is becoming less a matter of outward appearance and more about self-awareness, confidence, and individuality.

“To me, beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin. It’s about knowing and accepting who you are.”

Real beauty is shown in the character of a person.  It goes beyond our outward physical appearance.  The kindness, respect, love, and understanding one has for others is true beauty. It doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside.  This positive energy will flow from you and create a beauty unmatched in the physical realm.

It is time to celebrate our perfect inner beauty.  Let that “real you” radiate out to the world.
