The saying, “Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder” means that beauty is subjective. In other words, what one person thinks is beautiful may not be agreed upon by another. We all have differing opinions of what we think of as physical beauty. These opinions are influenced by many things including social media and marketing.

Our self-image is so affected by these things and many times we aren’t even aware of it. From the wrinkles on our faces, to the extra pounds on our hips, we are being bombarded by messages that these things are not beautiful, and therefore, we believe that we are not beautiful.

Our wrinkles should be a badge of honor. They signify the experiences we have endured throughout our lives. These experiences have given us the confidence and knowledge to endure even the toughest of situations. They are the marks of a wise individual. They are our “perfect imperfections.”
Beauty is no longer defined by hairstyles, body shape, age, or skin color. Beauty is becoming less a matter of outward appearance and more about self-awareness, confidence, and individuality.
