Reaching Our Potential

If we were lucky growing up, we received encouragement and support from our family, teachers, or others to work toward striving for our greatest potential.  Even if we did not receive this support in our childhood, we have the ability to provide that for ourselves here and now.

“Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.”

There are things you can do to help yourself reach your best potential.

  • Be organized:  You need to have a plan on how you are going to utilize your time.  I use a Panda Planner to break large tasks into more manageable steps.  Use Sunday or Monday of each week to lay out what you would like to accomplish during that week. Don’t forget to plan the rewards you will give to yourself along the way.
  • Keep a positive attitude:  It is impossible to reach your fullest potential if you have a negative attitude about your success.  Don’t let negative thoughts enter your mind.  Know that by taking it one step at a time, you can accomplish what you set out to do.
  • Keep it simple:  You don’t need to make this more complicated than it needs to be.   If you can find different ways to save time and make your life simpler, you’ll be able to focus on reaching your fullest potential every day. If you are constantly all over the place, you’ll experience stress and frustration on a daily basis. So remember KISS – keep it simple silly!
  • Reward and Rejuvenate:  It is not only important for you to recharge your mind, your body needs time to rejuvenate too. Reaching your fullest potential every day can become stressful if you don’t manage your time well and take the time to revitalize yourself.

The most important thing to remember is that every day is another opportunity to  reach your fullest potential.  Take control of your life and make the decision to do whatever you can to live your best life.
